The Picturehouse
Branding and Identity
This project started with a simple question: what if the primary colors for a brand were... the primary colors? From there, The Picturehouse took shape, a bold, playful identity for an independent cinema that blends nostalgia with modernity.
The Picturehouse offers a unique cinematic experience. The venue features three screening rooms: a main theatre with a stage for live events, plus two smaller, more intimate screening spaces. The Picturehouse is designed to showcase a diverse range of films, from beloved classics to emerging indie productions and short films.
The Picturehouse is also home to the Storytellers Film Festival: a collegiate festival that features aspiring filmmakers from across the country. This annual event transforms the venue into a vibrant hub for young talent, offering student filmmakers a platform to showcase their work alongside industry professionals. The Picturehouse creates an ideal atmosphere for both established cinema enthusiasts and the next generation of filmmakers to celebrate the art of storytelling through film.

Created for my Design IV class, this project was an exercise in restraint and reimagination, and a reminder that even the simplest tools can lead to something unexpected.
