Sketch Cafe

Branding and Identity
It’s a designer’s rite of passage to, at some point in their formative years, brand a café. And if we could, most of us would probably open one just to show off our menus. Sketch Cafe was my take on that fantasy: a warm, analog-inspired space for creatives to gather, scribble ideas, and sip something strong.

The branding leans into imperfection with hand-drawn marks, mismatched textures, and playful typography. I wanted to evoke the feel of a well-worn sketchbook. I developed everything from packaging and signage to a full menu system, merch line, and 3D spatial renders, keeping the visual identity intentionally loose and tactile throughout.

It’s the kind of place I’d want to spend hours in: a little messy, a little moody, and full of ideas waiting to happen. Sketch Cafe was created for a Design III assignment where we were to reimagine an old kitchen space in USC’s design building as a branded cafe.
